He has interests in so many things that it makes me think he is not interested in anything. Or is interested in lots of things because he is looking for a Goal? Jack seems like a person that doesn't set goals for his life but just lives through his life as he pleases.
i think jack's goal is keep on rolling, to have the constant uncomfortable, unsatisfied, and his goal is constantly hanging somewhere just like carrot on a stick, its right there, but u will never get it.
