does @katherine mean this question is specifically for me? The drug references in this book are interesting to me because at the time, drugs like marijuana were not well known & understood in the US. I wonder if these references are to intentionally show how up-to-date Jack and his friends are. Remember this book is set in the 40s. Sometimes this is hard for me to believe.
oh lily I understand why you were asking me. The answer is yes, all of the drug references are in the other book. 2 I distinctly remember: when Jack goes to buy weed and ends up with just tobacco and also going to William S. Burrough's house where he is always shooting up.
