1. I think that Jack based his wanting to stay with Bea on physical attraction. I do not Jack is actually lucid enough to make a rational decision. As he goes further into his trip it seems as if he is pushing himself to making these extravagant chioces out of a need to feel life. Also is Jack sober? He is constantly either drunk or high throughout portions of this book. Even if he is sober he's living in this haze.
